HIIT Workout for an Extra Burn!

April 12, 2018

HIIT (high intensity interval training) workouts are an awesome way to burn a lot of calories in a short amount of time, are a very effective way to lose more fat and can be done anywhere. You can vary how you perform these type of workouts, depending on your abilities and expertise, and best of all, make them work for YOU.

HIIT is a type of training technique where you go all-out, giving 100 percent of your effort through quick and intense bursts of exercise, immediately followed by short recovery periods. This type of training works to elevate your heart rate higher, therefore burning more fat in less amount of time compared with steady-state cardio (i.e. walking on the treadmill).

Some of the benefits of HIIT training include:

1. Increasing your metabolism by speeding up your metabolic rate, and giving you a metabolism boost for up to 48 hours after completing a HIIT workout.

2. It's quick and convenient, and can be done anywhere! At home, at the gym or even at the park. Best part of HIIT? You can be done in 30 minutes or less!

3. No equipment needed! HIIT workouts can be done using body weight only, while still keeping your heart rate elevated and giving you a total body workout. This results in muscle building, increased calorie burn and fat loss.

Next time you are at the park with your kids or just short on time at home, try out this HIIT workout to give you a great calorie burn!

Perform each exercise for 40 seconds, then rest 20 seconds before moving to the next exercise. Complete 3 rounds total!
